I steer clear of the red and black clothing combinations. The duo, used extensively as branding colors splashed on websites and logos in the early 90’s, appears dated to me. Yet, buffalo check, is still my favorite plaid and is classically red and black. Despite my disinterest in wearing a red blouse and black pants, there is no pattern more striking than buffalo check. Sadly, the plaid leaves retailers for their spring and summer collections. Anyone want to make me a buffalo check bathing suit? I’ll be the first in line!
If you are a fan of buffalo check, here are a couple of my favorites, and if you not, you need to get it together, lol!
“Called steamer rugs during the early 20th century, these blankets were a warm, welcome companion for those who traveled by horse-drawn carriage, train or boat. Today our motor robes still feature the finest 100% pure virgin wool, softly napped in a variety of colorful plaids and authentic Scottish Tartans. And they’re still woven in our own American mills. Ideal for crisp autumn football games, warm summer picnics, stowing in the car for unexpected adventures, or just curling up at home. Each Motor Robe comes with a convenient leather carrier with handle and shoulder strap.”
This cape is no longer manufactured by Ralph Lauren, and they don’t have a comparable cape this season, but many clothing companies have options. Madewell has a whole category of buffalo check this season. This Madewell cape is cute and at least a third of the cost.
A baby in a shirt dress just breaks my heart.
