Infused liqueur for the Bourbon Whiskey Drinker!

DRINKS, MAKE

February 8, 2016 marks the year of the monkey in the zodiac calendar. Although, I am not a follower of the Chinese astrology, I thought I would make a “relevant” liqueur for 2016. Make AHP 2016 Monkey Bread Whiskey and cherish the new beginnings the year promises. If you are a fan of Monkey Bread or love a dessert drink with a bite, this cocktail will deliver.

We chose Wild Turkey. It’s not merely a suggestion, it’s straight bourbon whiskey made from my home town! The liquor has a distinct smoke and sweetness that adds a kick to the cocktail. It’s also 101 proof! For those of you who are whiskey connoisseurs, don’t worry, whiskey is my drink. I have not defiled the liquor. The dressing-up process (infusing/liqueuring) may add a bit of sugar to the party, but the process does not minimize the district straight bourbon whiskey flavor. Kentucky bourbon, toasted walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon… what could be better! AHP 2016 Monkey Bread Whiskey should be served on the rocks in a lowball glass.

I also threw in another recipe for AHP Orange Liqueur… I never make just one liqueur at a time! AHP Orange Liqueur is a special cocktail. It has a strong taste of orange, but never bitter. It’s light, sweet and refreshing. Quite pleasing to any palate and not overly sweet.
