Life is crazy after having kids. My husband and I need to squeeze every second of quality time we can out of life together, whenever possible! Lately, this has meant easy at home “dates.” We cook delicious meals together way too late after the kids have gone to bed, make a fancy cocktail, or chat by the fire pit outside. Since I wake-up 7 days a week at 4am to work, my energy level at 9pm has been down lately. In the past couple weeks that has meant quick Rib-eye dinners or cheese plates (ahhhhh, were both not supposed to eat dairy)! Yet, honestly, my favorite home “date night” is chatting by the fire, very simple.
The best midnight snack for fall, so far, organic 365 brand milk chocolate pretzels and the Pumpkin IPA from Flying Dog, The Gourd Standard. There is something comforting about this snack, the warmth of the fire, the spices, the chocolate indulgence, that feel romantic, comforting and cozy. The date, wood and all, will cost under 20 dollars, no babysitter needed, and it’s wonderful!
