I love candles… the aroma and the memories tethered to them. The collection of thoughts and feelings accessible only by fragrance.
Several weeks ago, I walked into a tiny shop, in a tiny town about an hour outside of Washington DC and came across Produce Candles. The fragrance of the unlit candles filled the store. They were displayed off to the side in a watering bucket. They could have gone unnoticed, but the sublime scent forced me to search them out. I purchased what they had and will look no further for my candle needs.
Produce Candles are all natural and made of soy wax. The company refers to the founder as a “candle farmer.” Their inspiration is the harvest and the fragrance of a produce stand. The product truly has a ripeness brewed into the wax.
My favorite is peach. As I type, the candle burns next to me in the dim light of the morning. I am craving a peach pie… my favorite, and am excited to light a fire later with my children and bake. This fall they have many seasonally inspired scents… honey, fig, sage, and rosemary. My favorite of the four is sage. The scent smells of the plant but also has a fresh clean aroma. Perfect for the chaos of the holidays, a beach house or a relaxing night with a bottle of wine. Although, sage is my favorite seasonal candle, if you are looking for a heartier, rustic fruity smell, the fig is for you. Its essence so very close to nature. If you enjoy candles, whether to get cozy in the dark while wrapped in a blanket, working, or maybe just for your bath, I highly recommend the product.
On a side-note, their packaging is perfect, with a vent cut out on top, so you can sneak a quick fix even when the candle is not lit.
