A hard boiled egg… cooked in its shell for easy eating and carting around. Great for picnics, fun snacks or a breakfast on the run. The little morsel, a superfood, healthy and delicious.

Many find it difficult to hard boil or medium boil eggs. The truth is if you never vary your altitude or the steps it takes to boil an egg, cooking them in their shell is easy, but you have to follow the instructions exactly for the perfect eggs.

This means: The eggs should not be room temperature; The water should not be warm or hot; This recipe is for chicken eggs, not for quail, duck or ostriage eggs, those times will vary.

  • refrigerated eggs: 12

instructions: sea level medium boiled eggs

  • In a large pot… add a dozen refrigerated eggs.
  • Cover the eggs with 1 inch of cold water.
  • Over high heat bring water to boil, then turn off water.
  • Leave pot uncovered and let sit for 6 minutes.
  • Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water.
  • Drain, peel and enjoy!
